Where

The Opera Village in Burkina Faso is an ideal venue due to its infrastructure that includes training rooms, guest rooms, a recording studio, an open-air cinema and small studios.

Why

Even though cinema is a powerful medium in West Africa, there are hardly any children’s movies of African provenance. Therefore we chose KIFIFE’S focus on children’s cinema.

Selection

United Screens

With the first KIFIFE Burkina Faso the opportunity arose to throw light also on the sub-Saharan film industry and to become a part of SAVVY Contemporary’s project United Screens and their research approach. Thus, KIFIFE enables us to take a look behind the scenes of Burkinabe film productions.
