L’homme qui plantait des baobabs

Documentary | Burkina Faso | 2024 | 70 min

For 50 years, El Hadj Salifou Ouédraogo has been planting baobab trees in his village in western Burkina Faso. Despite initial skepticism, he has planted over 4,600 trees, creating a remarkable environmental project.

Michel K. Zongo

Born in 1974 in Koudougou, Burkina Faso, Michel K. Zongo is a Burkinabè documentary filmmaker and producer. He studied film technology at the National Center for Cinematography in Burkina Faso and in France. Zongo is known for his socially engaged documentaries, tackling issues such as the environment, migration, and social justice. He is also the director of the KOUDOUGOUDOC festival and a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
